I got this bag last year and I have been really enjoying it. It feels very secure on the bike rack and very comfortable when carrying on the back. I can carry everything that I need on the course comfortably, and I particularly like the velcro on the side for the glove. I bike to the office and this bag has made it really easy to bike to the par 3 course after work where I play in a league. I have also gotten nothing but positive and curious comments about it from playing partners and fellow cyclists.
Customer service has also been outstanding. Response time is very quick and action is taken promptly. When I originally got the bag, the rain cover zipper was not working properly. After recognizing the problem, lowercase sent another rain cover.
Overall, I would absolutely recommend this bag.
The Lowercase golf backpack has quickly become one of my favorite pieces of gear. Perfect for a quick range session, walking a casual round, or even heading to Topgolf without dragging your entire setup around. The clubs stay secure, the backpack straps are extremely comfortable, and the overall design just makes golf feel easier and more convenient. Simple, functional, and built for golfers who actually move around. Definitely a game changer for casual practice and on-the-go golf.
I've been loving my lowercase bag for going to the range. I can choose the handful of clubs I want to focus on that day and take them with me in a much lighter/easier bag than my full golf bag. It's also great for for hitting balls with my 11-year-old, since we can each toss a few clubs into the same light bag and go. I also love that I can fit my laptop into the bag, which is great for getting work done during my son's golf lesons. And the name lowercase is brilliant!
What a great bag for urban golfers. I live in inner Portland and love hitting twilight 9s on our city munis after work when I can. The Lowercase bag legit lets me glide down to the course and avoid the hassle of loading up the car, burning gas, and fighting rush hour traffic.
On the bike:
Im 6’4 and ride a standard paneer rack on a 59cm touring bike frame. The bag clips onto the rack snug (maybe a bit too snug, it takes some effort to unclip which is good) and the bottom strap keeps it very stable. I dont have a paneer extender and while the bag is up against me cycling, it doesnt interfere with the pedals and just about stays out of the way. I wish it had more reflectors as on the non drive side of the rack it slightly obscures my bike light from cars behind me. (Although it rides just fine on the drive side i find). Its just about light enough to not pull on me as I’m riding; although I did toss my U lock in the bag once and that tipped the scale into uncomfortably heavy. Gradual hill climbs are no problem although i did struggle a bit on a severe short climb that I now detour around. The clips work great to secure the clubs and the I genuinely dont notice any rattling on the bike.
On the course:
I pack about 9 clubs including driver. 14 is doable. Its got as much carrying capacity as any sunday bag- range finder, space for snacks, balls, tees etc. I thought that this would be a limited bag for 9 but its definitely doable to pack out a full club set and enough extras for a full 18.
The pull out back pack straps work great and the bag feels super comfortable when strapped up. Seriously, its more comfortable than a harnessed golf bag as it doesnt sway and the straps are reinforced, padded, and quickly adjustable.
The only real complaint that I have is that the golf club markers that attach to the butt of the handle are kind of a necessity and I wish they were included with the bag. Because the clubs are stored head-down,I found myself shuffling through the bag and getting frazzled a ton trying to find the club I was looking for on most shots.
To a lesser extent, while the bag is very sturdy, its a bit tippy and doesnt seem to want to stand upright when I put it down. The base of the bag has two rails molded to the bottom: I wonder if it were more stable if it had a flat base. Not a big deal but the bag is definitely goong to tip on to the ground.
If Im being really picky, itd also be nice to have a carrier handle along the top that ran perpendicular to the one thats there. Having the handle across the top of the bag rather than along it makes it a bit trickier to carry it like a briefcase style as it twists a bit.
Overall this bag is great. It works exactly as advertised and offers a real solution for people who want to golf with limited car access. Any half committed cyclist will have no problem packing this along for the ride and its deeply impressive to see a complex carrier like this fit straight onto a basic paneer rack with no fiddly attachments needed. It’s a shame that the golf club markers are a separate purchase- pulling out 2 or 3 clubs every shot over 18 holes gets old fast. Its a small thing though to bookend a round of golf with a summer cycle around town.
Have not used it , but it is just what I have been
Looking for and near as I can see with no competition . I am 1 of 1 who bikes to the course, so I think the idea of a comfortable golf back pack needs to get the attention of the walkers , I also play in flip flops and play every day . Lol
I will keep this bag forever , hope it takes off
